Yarn – Gauge – Needle/Hook Size

How the Yarn categories are determined are (approximately) based on the length of yarn given a specific weight. Often skeins come in 1.75 or 3.5 oz (50 or 100 grams). If you have a lighter category yarn then you will find longer lengths. If you have a bulkier category yarn then you will find shorter lengths. These numbers are approximate since different manufacturers seem to categorize things differently so I will be updating periodically.
